I was running into the same issue. I don't know if it's viable on this DIY version but I think due to the main router always being set to the management role and the second one setup as an AP that leaves no adapter to make the bridge connection to allow access to the internet. |

The documentation is clear that you must also have a usb adapter for everything to work the same as the original hardware. The plugins are designed for that specific hardware so it is normal that this happens with some of them. The plugins have their own repo so if you want to modify its operation you can send a PR to it to add new features like this one you mention. |

I have set up a GL.iNet GL-MT300N-V2 router with an RT5370 Wi-Fi adapter and installed the Evil Portal module. The router (running Evil Pineapple) requires an internet connection to my home network or hotspot for the Evil Portal to serve my custom captive portal page.
When I connect to my SSID “pineapple-3736” network on my iPhone, it correctly displays my custom captive portal and logs the credentials I submit. However, when I disconnect the router from the internet and connect to the same “pineapple-3736” SSID from my iPhone, the custom captive portal does not display.
All of my custom captive portal files are stored locally on the router in the “portal” directory.
Has anyone encountered this issue? How can I configure the system to serve the captive portal even without an internet connection?
