These seem to fit echopype-examples better? The first notebook overlaps with what we have there to plot eclipse zooplankton movements using OOI data. For the second notebook, in that repo we already have a notebook that uses frequency differencing to mask out krill, and I think this one would be a good addition to the echopype functions in combination with holoviz tools.

In general I feel our focus should be more explanation on how the core data dimensions come about and then present an example, and treat echosounder data more of an example rather than the norm.

We could make the frequency differencing without echopype for BOAT audience, maybe in a section dealing with scattering of marine organisms. I added it to make "something interactive" with echograms but other suggestions welcome.
