Summary for sprint 7

Adrien (Scrum Master)

This was my first 2 week sprint so I worked on multiple and varied task. First we add to quick find a bug on the sign in page but working with alexis on it make it really fast. Other task was making Ui for the setting activity which I am now use to and did not take me more time s supposed. My last task was to design multiple design for the app and propose them to the team. I was a bit off on this task because I clearly underestimated the time taken after the choice was made to adapt the chosen logo for the app purpose. I compensate this by doing a bit less design refactoring this week which will be done eventually in next sprint.

Alexandre

I really liked this longer sprint, it allowed me to make much more significant progress than usual shorter sprints. My task was to write the backend of the messaging, it thus consisted in a lot more thinking (about how the communication should work for example) than usual which was refreshing. I am happy I had allocated more time for the implementation of the sending and retrieval of messages since it required changes to the database and its implementation. All in all, my time estimates were nearly on point which I'm quite happy about.

Alexis

First 2 week sprint, so the amount of work to do was obviously longer than usual. I had to implement the full end-to-end alert communication system based on bits of code that were already implemented by various team members before. This turned out to be more complex than expected, since a lot of work had to be put into making these parts consistent. This explains why I went overtime for this task. Anyways, I'm happy with the result.

Another issue I had this sprint was during the merge, since we are in 2 week sprint, coordination is harder and the merge took several hours to complete.

Emilien

This was a nice long sprint ! I chose to work on several small tasks during this sprint which was not my best decision. Test and problem solving on the first tasks got overwhelming and I did not have the chance to go all the way through with what I had planned, but I am happy to have finally solved all the misterious problems I encountered in the previous sprint. In the following sprint I will be able to quickly implement the refactoring I had planned this week and address some of the remarks we received over the break. I will also make sure to take tasks that are related together so as to avoid the overhead of context switching :)

Hind

In this 2 weeks sprint, I implemented a new feature that consists of creating a new portal specific to the medical professionals. The main challenge was to find a secure way to authenticate the professional users in addition to the Google sign-in. The idea is to ask the user to upload proof of his/her professional status. It was interesting to learn how to access documents on the used device and manipulate them.

This sprint was quite fun and I managed to finish my tasks on the estimated time during the holiday.

Wiam

In this two weeks sprint, I worked on the messaging feature. The main challenge was to be able to link the front end and backend of this feature. It was a very interesting sprint though.

Overall team

The team has worked very well this week and everybody is happy to be able to begin every pieces of our app together. Communication between team meber is really great and eventhough we had to cut ties during the easter break everything returned back to normal at the end of the break. This week we also had to chose between 5 possible logo design for our app. So we organized a votation in which every member could choose their favorite one. And king of surprisingly every member voted for the same logo.
