Summary / Notes

Welcome to The Shulker Archives v2.0.0!

This is the first major release of the Archives post-1.20.5. Many entries from v1 have not been ported, and most never will be; However, many of the best entries from v1 have been ported, and more than one hundred of those have actually been improved, with patches for broken or incorrect data.

Additionally, the Archives now uses a brand-new map, designed by myself with some help on the floor textures and decoration from PiquantSoap2953 and beccaxoxo respectively. This map aims to both streamline the Archives and expand the number of categories, to improve the usability of the map.

In total there are now 633 Entries across 26 categories and 8 Collections.

There are a few notable caveats to be aware of:

• Enchantments below Level 1 and above Level 255 no longer exist. Below Level 1 were mostly patched with an enchantment glint override, and above Level 255 were simply reduced to 255.
  • I manually fixed the enchantments below Level 1, and Minecraft's own DFU reduced enchantments above Level 255.
  • Technically speaking, enchantments above 255 have been patched out for a long time now, but it was possible to have 32767 and even 2Bil enchantment levels prior to 1.20.5.
• Firework Explosions above 256 have been reduced to 256.
  • I attempted to bypass this, but was unable to. Minecraft's own DFU cut off explosions beyond 256, and it is not possible to add more.
• Various glitches and exploits have been patched by Minecraft. I have tried my best to not include entries whose items are mostly or entirely patched out, but in the case of the various Abuse and Exploit entries, I have not verified them completely. If an item from there doesn't work, it's likely because it's been patched out.
• HD Heads will no longer render even if you have a mod capable of rendering them.
  • This is not related to the NBT -> Component change, but occurs because Mojang deleted all HD Head textures from the Education Edition site. RIP HD Heads. o7

This is an itty-bitty update that clears out the few new entries in advance of the major 1.20.5+ support update.
v1.4.1 will release shortly, with support for 1.20.5/1.20.6, and v1.4.2 will be released in the near future with support for 1.21.0.
Both of those releases will include a (finally) updated Modpack, but this release is still using the 1.20.4 Modpack.

This update is largely a patch update to fix a few known issues with the Archives, including misattributed Authors, improperly categorized entries, and unintended features/annoying bugs.

The map is marked as 1.20.4 in Minecraft, but can be safely loaded up to 1.20.6, and potentially beyond; I have yet to test it on 1.21, and will create another patch release specifically for 1.21

The Shulker Archives v1.3.0

Summary / Notes

In total there are now 2,420 Entries

This update largely consists of submissions from the NBT Archives server, but also has a handful of odds and ends from my ClientChest that were missed in the last update.

Unlike other releases, I am providing three versions of the map, one each for Minecraft 1.20.4, 1.20.5 and 1.20.6. I will continue to use and develop on 1.20.4 for now, but the 1.20.5 and 1.20.6 branches are provided for anyone who wants them: be warned however, that I have not verified the integrity of the 1.20.5 and 1.20.6 branches yet. Ideally they are intact and everything has been upgraded properly, but there have been mojang bug reports (specifically MC-271159, MC-271222, MC-271220 and MC-271094) that 1.20.5 did not properly upgrade things.

The Modpack will be using the 1.20.4 release of the map, as few of the mods within have been updated and thus the modpack is still 1.20.4.

Build Changes

• Added a small platform at 0, 0, 0 that contains two entries whose contents credits were stolen. A future update (focused on Build Improvements) will flesh out this platform, and provide proper access to it. Neither of the entries there now are listed in the [Database]({{ site.baseurl }}/database/).
  • Both entries contents were largely made by MarioKartWii, but Marios name was replaced with theirs in a poor attempt to claim credit for something they knew they could never make themselves. I didn't want these in the main body of the Archives for obvious reasons, but I feel it's important to highlight them as examples of credit thievery.

The Shulker Archives v1.2.0

Summary / Notes

In total there are now 2,378 Entries and 18 Collections.

Good News: We are now Partnered/Affiliated with Txsla.net, and the creator of the Tesla Kits, _txsla!

Bad News: This will likely be the last significant release of the Archives in terms of entries added; The backlog of worlds and files has been exhausted, and there's barely a trickle of new entries from all sources.

Subsequent updates will be focused on expanding and improving the map by re-ordering and re-sorting entries, adding new areas and features, and fixing existing mistakes, as well as patches for major bugs and Minecraft updates.

??? News: I will also be taking a step back from the Archives, with less time spent actively working on it and a smaller presence on the Discord. My efforts will likely be focused on my personal website Shouting Into the Void and various other projects like updating Mods I maintain, getting back into my YouTube channel (but not my old content, thankfully), and playing through my backlog of video games.

The Shulker Archives will still be updated and maintained, just with a longer delay between releases, and less content per release.

Summary / Notes

In total there are now 2,036 Entries and 16 Collections.

This update consists entirely of entries from my backlog of worlds, containing things I've collected or been given since starting the Archives, but had yet to sort through and add.

This is Part 1 of the backlog, containing entries from various plots and builds I ripped from a server, plus a world sent in by a user.

All the source worlds will be provided on this website in a future update, once I've finished looking through them.

The Shulker Archives v1.0.0

Summary / Notes

In total there are now 1,873 Entries and 15 Collections.

The majority of new entries this release come from the voluminous depths of my Hotbar files/Client Chest pages (which appear to have become some sort of hybrid between a Black Hole, the Bermuda Triangle and wherever it is that missing socks go). Several of the added entries I knew existed (and that I had copies of) but only just now discovered where they were, and the same goes for a great many more entries coming in the future.

This release marks the debut of not just the Map and Website, but of the Database as well. While former iterations of the Archives all had some form of database, this is the first to be condensed into a single table, and also the first to properly organize the data. While I still heavily encourage exploring the Archives on your own, if you're looking for a specific entry then the Database exists to help you find it.

I have also created a Discord Server for The Shulker Archives, and I'll post updates for the Website and Map there, as well as various other NBT Related things (plus the occasional giveaways of Steam Keys). Be sure to join and subscribe to the Site and Map Update Roles, and if you're an Author be sure to claim your Shulker role, and share your latest creations in the Showcase category!

Build Changes

• Bare patches in the gardens filled with grass
  • This is most noticeable at the orange trees to the right of the entrance, and the perimeter pine trees.
• Changed the trunk/wood of one of the pine trees close to the item wing from oak to spruce
  • I have no idea why it was oak, if the original was always oak, or why the original would have been oak, but it's fixed now.
• Fixed inconsistency with the moulding near Item wings, where the pattern was incorrectly mirrored/adapted
  • Thanks to Beta Tester beccaxoxo for finding this; I have no idea how you found it, but thank you.

Organization/Display Changes
