Texture and animation fixes:

  • Correct the texture of the ammo box found in the resupply locker. (#8)
  • Add missing animations to Mann vs Machine robots.
  • Fix Spy-bot invulnerability texture.
  • Allow for uber & jarate effects on the Sentry Buster.

Using custom animations? You should install "TF2-TIP-and-I-want-to-use-my-own-animations" in addition to the main file to opt out of the animation changes and avoid conflicts. Make sure your animations load after both files.

Do NOT install "TF2-TIP-and-I-want-to-use-my-own-animations" if you are not using any animation mods.

New TF2-TIP-and-I-want-to-use-my-own-animations addon for the main mod.

Animation and sound improvements:

  • A thud sound has been added to the Medic deploying his primary.
  • Spy clicks his Dead Ringer when deploying it.
    • This makes an audible clicking sound.
  • Watches are now visible while cloaking.
    • Dead Ringer has been repositioned ever so slightly to improve visibility of both the watch and its cloak meter.

Make things look better:

  • All normal types of water are now expensive, enabling reflections.
    • Water fog has not been altered.
    • Defaults were used for water that did not have all required values.
  • Removed the incorrectly colored exit signs for both teams.
  • Fix one more sv_pure issue.

Rockets are now visible when reloading.

In addition, the Soldier's first-person arms now also match the player model.

Fixes sv_pure issues on Valve servers.

Due to a disagreement between sv_pure and the mod, updated textures were being requested but could not be loaded. Causing missing textures to show up.

Additional improvements:

  • A ton of paint related issues have been fixed.
  • Class identifiability issues have been fixed.
  • Collision model data is no longer overridden. Physics match unmodded TF2.

You'll now also be able to tell TIP is working by looking at the main menu TF2 logo. "Texture Improvement Project" has been added to it in white letters.

Let's try this again. Repository rebuild from scratch.

I'm actually keeping track of everything I'm doing now instead of throwing a bunch of files together and hoping it doesn't break.

Everything has been tested now and it should just work. Providing minimal enhancements on Valve servers but at least not crashing / breaking everything. On community servers it is still the TIP you know and love.
