Acronym Lexicon

Note To add a tracking, reference or case number to a request, add the following code the status acronyms above: “ID#_________” , e.g. 3-8-13 mr2456 ACK ID#234-FOIA-R. You only need to do this once per request.


ACK Acknowledgement Letter

An acknowledgement letter, stating the request is being processed.

APP-A Appeal Successful

A letter stating that the request appeal has been successful.

APP-ACK Appeal Acknowledgement

A letter stating that the request appeal has been received and is being processed.

APP-R Appeal Rejected

A letter stating that the request appeal has been rejected.

FEE Payment Required

A letter stating the requester must agree to or prepay assessed or estimated fees in order for the agency to continue processing the request.

FEE$20.00 Payment Required

A letter stating the requester must agree to or prepay assessed or estimated fees in order for the agency to continue processing the request.

Note Updates the fee attached to that request.

FEE-A Fee Waiver Accepted

A letter stating the request for reduced or waived fees has been accepted.

FEE-R Fee Waiver Rejected

A letter stating the request for reduced or waived fees has been rejected.

FIX Fix Required

A fix is required to perfect the request. (General)

FIX-D Fix Required, Specify Date Range

A fix is required to perfect the request. The agency has asked the requester to specify a date range for the requested materials.

FIX-F Fix Required, Fee Willingness

A fix is required to perfect the request. The agency has asked the requester to verify their willingess to pay a fee.

FIX-I Fix Required, Identification

A letter stating that a fix is required, requiring either proof of death or a certificate of authorization from the subject of the request in question.

FIX-V Fix Required, Too Vague or Burdensome

A fix is required to perfect the request. The request has been rejected as being too vague, burdensome or otherwise unprocessable.

FWD Request Forwarded

The request has been forwarded from one agency to another agency or department for further review or follow up.

INT Interim Response

An interim response, stating the request is being processed.

INT-D Interim Response, Delayed

An interim response, stating the request has been delayed

MAN

Flag for manual review by administrator in a special queue, do not post on site yet

NRD No Responsive Documents

A no responsive documents response.

REJ-E Request Rejected, Exemption

The request has been rejected, with the agency stating that the information or document(s) requested is exempt from disclosure.

REJ-G Request Rejected, Glomar Response

The request has been rejected, with the agency stating that it can neither confirm nor deny the existence of the requested documents.

REJ-V Request Rejected, Too Vague or Burdensome

The request has been rejected as being too vague, burdensome or otherwise unprocessable.

RES Responsive Documents

A copy of documents responsive to the request.

RES-C Cover Letter

A cover letter granting the request and outlining any exempted materials, if any.

RES-P Partially Responsive Documents

A copy of documents responsive to the request, with additional release pending.
