HueMonitor

HueMonitor allows you to set points of interest on your OSX display that trigger your Philips Hue lightbulbs.

  • Points of interest extract average RGB values
  • Support for unlimited bulbs
  • Reacts fast to quick color changes

HueMonitor is a great source of entertainment for any owner of the Philips Hue lightbulb. Sync the Hue bulbs to your favorite music videos, video games, and movies. Or just let your computer set the ambiance to your everyday work desk.

Installation

  1. Clone the git repo
  2. Edit hardcoded URL to your Philips HTTP /api/ url
  3. Run the application!

Useage

  1. Choose number of POI (at least one)
  2. Click anywhere on your display to place POI
  3. Click "Start Monitoring" to start syncing the lights to your screen
  4. Enjoy the show!

Requirements

  • Philips Hue Lightbulb
  • MacOSX 10.10+

Todo's

  • Allow user to specify username and bulbs via GUI
  • Add support to sync brightness with system audio
  • Improve UI
  • Improve color response (HTTP Post speed is current bottleneck)
