GSoC 2018 Student Applications

If you'd like to participate, please have a look at our projects at https://zgis.github.io/outreach_oss/projects.html and the related ideas https://github.com/ZGIS/outreach_oss/wiki/GSoC-Ideas-2018 - if you are interested please contact us as soon as possible, ideally before the application period from March 12 - 27 so we can have a discussion about your application. Please include:

• full name
• short information about you and your coding background (you can include links to CV, GitHub, LinkedIn etc. here)
• e-mail address and preferred mode of communication (e.g. Hang-outs, Skype, chat, e-mail)
• project you are interested in and why
• together we work out the specifics of your project and we would like you to include a weekly schedule of your activities. This way you get a head start and it will be easier to keep focussed throughout the coding phase

We find that a weekly conference call is one of the most effective means of keeping in touch between students and mentors. We expect a thought-through time-line and project description in advance from the students that we discuss together already before and during the Student Application Period. We believe that this is the best way to stay in touch and make you a part of the team. We value your inputs, ideas and ultimately also your code contributions. And in order to achieve the latter we also want to work with with you in terms of code reviews for example.
