When mousing over the inspector, clear all canvas highlights

Bug: The canvas highlight can get stuck if you move the mouse over the inspector.

Fix:
the canvas highlights should be cleared when the mouse leaves the canvas area.
the canvas highlights should be cleared when the mouse enters the inspector, vscode, or navigator panes. or the canvas toolbar

When you tackle this, please find out when / where / why this regressed
