There is ongoing work to test whether {distributional} and {distcrete}, which are currently used by {epiparameter} within <epidist> objects, are adequate for all use cases, or whether the new distribution interface introduced in {EpiNow2} v1.5.0 could be generalised and used across packages (including {epiparameter}).
