To install the XPI file in Thunderbird, open the extensions tab and drag the file.
Thunderbird will warn about installing from an unofficial source.

Known Bugs:

• Sometimes tabs won't close while the extension is enabled.
• Sometimes tabs are "locked" on the page, and you can't go to a different URL.
