This application helps us at Rivers Agile Solutions interact with a full-size traffic light that we have wired up with a Beaglebone and some relays. The application runs directly on the Beaglebone.
To ease the pain of understanding the Beaglebone environment (and getting some native things to compile), a Vagrantfile has been provided. It closely approximates what is running on the Beaglebone, although it is not exact.
After installing and configuring Vagrant, the following will get you up and running:
vagrant up
The Vagrant shell provisioning does not currently setup any applications. (running npm install
etc.) You will have to perform those steps manually.
To run the tests, execute either npm test
or mocha
in the Vagrant shell (accessed with vagrant ssh
).
- During provisioning, you might see some weird errors from
node-gyp
regarding filesystem permissions - please ignore.

- During project
npm install
, you might get error messages during binary symlinking. Since we aren't interested in this (or any other binary) at present, npm install --no-bin-links
should resolve.
