- Remove dead/future code in order to re-add it when support for GTK variables arrives - This fixes the "Ignoring length property that isn't a number" warnings
- Remove now unused GTK import - Fix previously missed removal of function call to "_checkGtkVersion_cssVariables"

As stated here #2170 (comment) it is presumably better to put the code for (currently not working) CSS variables into another PR.
This PR depends upon #2170 and on GNOME to implement proper CSS variables support for extensions, such as Dash-to-Panel. That's why it is marked as Work In Progress or Draft.
