Welcome to the Mess Chess Engine Wiki! This wiki contains useful information about Mess's development and the various techniques which are used to make it a very strong engine. The wiki is currently a work in progress and thus a lot of information might be missing currently.

This wiki intends to not only cover Mess's development but to also act as a repository of knowledge regarding alpha-beta search engine development, which can be used as a resource by anyone trying to make their own chess engine. This is partly due to my exasperation with the outdated data at https://chessprogramming.org/ which is still a brilliant resource but has fallen out of maintenance.
