I created an RViz plugin robotiq_3f_rviz to control the hand and read its state:
rq3f_rviz

At the moment it is providing the same functionality (on/off, set mode, set finger state) as the Robotiq3FGripperSimpleController example. It might be useful for someone that just wants to control the fingers in RViz.
Is there interest in adding the plugin to this repo?
