PurpleDrop is an electrowetting-on-dielectric (EWOD) based digital microfluidics device (DMF) for lab automation. Our goal is to create cheap and reliable open source hardware that can be used to develop automation for many fluid handling tasks, including storing and retrieving large volumes of data in synthetic DNA.
