Part 5: Beyond This Workshop

This workshop has barely scratched the surface of Git and Open Source software. If you enjoyed doing what you learned here than I really recommend you continue honing your skills through work on your own. Some examples of how you can do that:

• Do all your group projects (I'm looking at you 246 students) using a git repository
• Find an interesting project on Open Hatch and poke around to see how you can help
• Start using open source software in your daily life (Linux, Firefox, IRC)
• Contribute to all the open source software that you are now using in your daily life
• Apply for the Google Summer of Code
• Apply for an Outreachy Internship
• Look up stuff about git and read it! This is actually way more interesting than it sounds I promise
