I am Yiqun Chen (pronunciation [here](./assets/audio/yiqunchen_name_recording.mp3)), currently an Assistant Professor in Biostatistics and Computer Science (joint) at Johns Hopkins University. Previously, I was a [Data Science Postdoctoral Fellow](https://datascience.stanford.edu/programs/data-science-fellows) at Stanford University, working with Professor [James Zou](https://www.james-zou.com/) on applying generative AI techniques to biomedical data. I completed my PhD in Biostatistics under the guidance of Professor [Daniela Witten](https://www.danielawitten.com/) at the University of Washington, where I developed methods to test data-driven hypotheses. My application interest spans different fields of data science: from [dermatology](https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamadermatology/article-abstract/2820188), [social networks and epidemiology](https://journals.lww.com/epidem/abstract/2021/07000/social_networks_and_hiv_care_outcomes_in_rural.12.aspx), as well as [human-computer interaction](https://dl.acm.org/doi/full/10.1145/3544548.3581122) and [microbiome science](https://elifesciences.org/reviewed-preprints/89862).
